Three weeks into its chart run, the soundtrack to the 2018 version of A Star Is Born has moved to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the first time. It becomes Lady Gagas third #1 album on the ARIA Charts after The Fame Monster (#1 Apr. 10) and Born This Way (#1 May 11). Its actor Bradley Coopers first #1 album.

 

Jumping up 16 places, Shallow, the lead single from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born hits #1 on this weeks ARIA Singles Chart. Its Lady Gagas fourth track to top the chart, having previously peaked at #1 with Just Dance (#1 Sept. 08), Poker Face (#1 Nov. 08) and Born This Way (#1 Feb. 11). Bradley Coopers debut chart appearance has given him his first #1.

LADY GAGA AND BRADLEY COOPER HIT #1 WITH SHALLOW

Debuts for Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Swae Lee, Khalid and more!

Jumping up 16 places, ‘Shallow’, the lead single from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born hits #1 on this week’s ARIA Singles Chart. It’s Lady Gaga’s fourth track to top the chart, having previously peaked at #1 with ‘Just Dance’ (#1 Sept. ’08), ‘Poker Face’ (#1 Nov. ’08) and ‘Born This Way’ (#1 Feb. ’11). Bradley Cooper’s debut chart appearance has given him his first #1.

With Khalid’s new EP Suncity debuting at #9 on this week’s Album Chart, its lead single moves up three spots to claim a new peak at #6. The American singer-songwriter takes out another chart entry this week, debuting at #30 with the EP’s title track (see below).

After cracking the Top Ten for the first time last week, Halsey’s ‘Without Me’ moves up a further two spots to hit a new peak this week at #8.

This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Kodak Black’s ‘Zeze’ (#14), Kian’s ‘Waiting’ (#28) and Morgan Evans’ ‘Day Drunk’ (#35).

Debuts:

#10: Billie Eilish ‘When The Party's Over’ – Billie Eilish takes out a second Top Ten entry on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘When The Party's Over’. The track is the first to be released from the 16-year-old American singer-songwriter’s forthcoming debut album. Eilish first hit the Top Ten with ‘Lovely’ (#5 Jul. ’18).

#13: Post Malone & Swae Lee ‘Sunflower (From Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse)’ – American rappers Post Malone and Swae Lee collaborate on ‘Sunflower (From Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse)’. The song is from the soundtrack to the upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. It’s Post Malone’s first chart debut since having 13 in one week back in March. It’s Swae Lee’s first chart entry as a lead artist.

#18: Lady Gaga ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ – As the soundtrack to A Star Is Born hits #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, several tracks from the album make their debut on this week’s Singles Chart. ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ is a country ballad sung by Lady Gaga. It has already charted in the UK, US and New Zealand.

#30: Khalid Feat. Empress Of ‘Suncity’ – Debuting at #9 on the Albums Chart with Suncity, American singer-songwriter Khalid hits the Singles Chart with the EP’s title track. Featuring Los Angeles singer-songwriter Empress Of, the track is the second to chart from the EP after ‘Better’ (#6 Oct. ’18).

#32: Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ – The second track from A Star Is Born to hit this week’s Top 50 is a duet by its stars, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper and features in the film’s final scene. There are two version of the song on the soundtrack album: the duet and an extended version sung only by Lady Gaga.

#33: Dua Lipa ‘Kiss And Make Up’ – Following the release of a deluxe edition of her self-titled debut album, Dua Lipa hit the Singles Chart with ‘Kiss And Make Up’. The track sees the English artist collaborating with K-pop girl band Blackpink.

#46: Charli XCX & Troye Sivan ‘1999’ – British artist Charli XCX teams up with ARIA-nominated Perth singer-songwriter Troye Sivan for ‘1999’. It becomes Charli XCX’s first Top 50 entry since ‘After The Afterparty’ (#30 Dec. ’16). Troye Sivan has charted in 2018 with ‘My My My!’ (#14 Jan. ’18), ‘Bloom’ (#34 May ’18) and ‘Dance To This’ (#39 Jun. ’18).

A STAR IS BORN SOUNDTRACK JUMPS TO #1

 

Debuts for Rüfüs Du Sol, Disturbed, Queen and more!

Three weeks into its chart run, the soundtrack to the 2018 version of A Star Is Born has moved to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the first time. It becomes Lady Gaga’s third #1 album on the ARIA Charts after The Fame Monster (#1 Apr. ’10) and Born This Way (#1 May ’11). It’s actor Bradley Cooper’s first #1 album.

Debuts:

#2: Rüfüs Du Sol ‘Solace’ – Sydney dance act Rüfüs Du Sol take out a third Top Three debut on the ARIA Albums Chart with Solace. The trio’s third studio album is the first released under their current moniker, having released Atlas (#1 Aug. ’13) and Bloom (#1 Feb. ’16) as Rüfüs. One track from Solace has hit the ARIA Top 50: ‘No Place’ (#41 Jun. ’18).

#3: Disturbed ‘Evolution’ – Disturbed follow up Immortalized (#1 Aug. ’15) with Evolution. It’s the American band’s seventh studio album and second released since their return from hiatus in 2015. Evolution is Disturbed’s fourth Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart.

#5: Queen ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – Ahead of the film’s release, the soundtrack to the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody makes its chart debut. The album features hits, previously unreleased tracks and live performances by the legendary British group, including their full set from Live Aid in 1985. Bohemian Rhapsody is released in Australia on 1 November.

#6: Various: ‘Triple J's Like A Version 14’Triple J’s Like A Version 14 becomes the ninth release in the Like A Version series to hit the Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart. The new release features cover tracks performed by the likes of Gang Of Youths, Ball Park Music, Dean Lewis, Meg Mac, Odette, Polish Club, Phoenix, Cloud Control and more. Triple J's Like A Version 13debuted at #1 in October 2017.

#7: Troy Cassar-Daley ‘Greatest Hits’ – Australian country singer-songwriter Troy Cassar-Daley brings together career highlights to-date on the double disc set Greatest Hits. The album contains 40 tracks from across Cassar-Daley’s previous releases and two new tracks. Amongst the tracks are collaborations with Kasey Chambers, Paul Kelly, Shane Howard, Slim Dusty, Adam Harvey and more. Cassar-Daley last charted with Things I Carry Around (#5 Sept. ’16).

#9: Khalid ‘Suncity’ – With his debut album American Teen (#13 Nov. ’17) notching up a 67thweek in the ARIA Top 50 this week at #33, Khalid scores a new chart peak with Suncity. The seven-track EP features the songs ‘Better’ (#6 Oct. ’18) and the title track (#30 Oct. ’18), which features a collaboration with Los Angeles singer-songwriter Empress Of.

#10: Greta Van Fleet ‘Anthem Of The Peaceful Army’ – American rockers Greta Van Fleet make their Albums Chart debut with Anthem Of The Peaceful Army. It’s the first album from the Michigan band consisting of brothers Josh, Jake and Sam Kiszka, along with drummer Danny Wagner. In 2017, they released two EPs: Black Smoke Rising and From The Fires.

#23: Hellions ‘Rue’ – Hellions grab a fourth Top 50 entry in the ARIA Top 50 with Rue. The Sydney band’s fourth album comes two years on from Opera Oblivia (#4 Aug. ’16), which was nominated for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album at the 2016 ARIA Awards.

#28: Future & Juice WRLD ‘Future & Juice WRLD Present… Wrld On Drugs’ – American rappers Future and Juice WRLD join forces for the mixtape Future & Juice WRLD Present… Wrld On Drugs. The collaborative effort features guest appearances by Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Young Thug and more. Future last charted with his self-titled fifth album (#42 Feb. ’17), while this is Juice WRLD’s first Albums Chart entry.

#36: RM ‘Mono.’ – BTS member RM makes his solo debut on the ARIA Albums Chart with the mixtape Mono. It’s his second mixtape and features tracks sung in Korean and English. As a member of the K-pop boyband, RM has already charted in 2018 with Love Yourself: Tear (#6 May ’18) and Love Yourself: Answer (#9 Sept. ’18).
