COLABORACIONES

  3. Following Ozuna’s first appearance at Coachella this year where he, Selena Gomez, and Cardi B crashed DJ Snake’s performance to sing hit “Taki Taki,” Cobo asked the reggaeton star what he thought of the song’s success. “I never thought it was going to be a hit. Honestly. I never thought it was going to break down those barriers in music,” Ozuna said. “I did not like [the track]. I didn’t like the concept of the rhythm.” Ozuna explained that he tried to put lyrics to the music and what he came up with was the clack clack of the drums so he sang a similar sound which became “Taki Taki.” “I don’t know what Taki Taki means. I really don’t,” the 27-year-old star admitted. “We just record songs and we don’t know where they are going to go.” FUENTE

The "I Like It" rapper is nominated 21 times in 18 categories -- just missing the record for most nominations set by Drake and The Chainsmokers, who each had 22 in 2017. Cardi will compete against herself in three categories -- top Hot 100 song, top selling song, and top collaboration. Following Cardi B, Drake and Post Malone each have 17 nominations. Travis Scottis up for 12 awards, and XXXTentacion is up for 10. Among the other nominees are Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper -- who are up for the chart achievement award, top soundtrack for A Star Is Born, and top selling song for "Shallow." Gaga is up separately for top song sales artist. For this year's ceremony, there are two fan-voted categories -- top social artist, and chart achievement. 10. Cardi B Becomes First Solo Woman to Win Best Rap Album at Grammys The five LPs up for best rap album at the 2019 Grammys constituted a stacked category: Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy, Mac Miller's Swimming, Nipsey Hussle's Victory Lap, Pusha T's Daytona and Travis Scott's Astroworld. But Cardi B managed to nab the honor in the highly competitive category with her smash debut. When the award was announced, Cardi freaked and hugged Offset, grabbing him by the hand and guiding him up to the stage with her. "Babe I can't breathe," she said after taking the stage. "The nerves are so bad -- maybe i need to start smoking weed." In addition to industry folks, Cardi thanked her child with husband Offset. "I want to thank my daughter. I'm not just saying thank because she's my daughter. When I found out I was pregnant, my album was not complete. I had three songs I was for sure having. And you know how I was. We had to have this album done so I could shoot these videos but I'm still not showing. It was very long nights." Though Lauryn Hill nabbed the best rap album award in 1997 as part of the Fugees for The Score, Cardi B is the first solo female to win best rap album at the 2019 Grammys. FUENTE

  12. In 2015, she was cast as a lovable loudmouth on the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York, then began releasing her own mixtapes. Her debut single, “Bodak Yellow,” went to the top of the charts, and it took her only one album to achieve escape velocity: Invasion of Privacy, arguably the best debut album from a female rapper since Lil’ Kim’s 1996 Hard Core. 13. Former Death Row CEO Suge Knight is currently behind bars serving a 28-year sentence for a fatal 2015 hit-and-run. But, the controversial Hip Hop figure spoke with DailyMail from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego on Friday (February 1). During the interview, Knight revealed there are enough unreleased Tupac Shakur songs to make an album. He also compared the slain rap legend to Cardi B. “[it’s] not that they was bad songs but those are songs that ‘Pac didn’t want to be out on an album or want to be out,” Knight said. “When it’s time to do a real Tupac album, you get the right people that work with him, that he would work with, you know, like Drake or … Beyoncé likes Tupac music. “He would definitely appreciate to see her with him and Cardi B is probably the most aggressive entertainer in the biz today. And I think she’s the female version of Tupac. Tupac with a skirt. Yeah.” Knight also addressed his son’s recent comments about ‘Pac being alive and “in the studio.” Last month, Suge Knight Jr. shared several Instagram post insisting ‘Pac was working on new music. “For me personally, there were sightings,” he said. “I knew my son was one of those times.” FUENTE:

  16. Cardi B, who announced at the beginning of the year that “there’s gonna be a new album in 2019,” will drop another song with Bruno Mars, Page Six has exclusively been told. We hear the track — which we learned will feature another big artist as well — is slated to drop Jan. 25, but could be pushed back due to Cardi’s busy schedule. It’s unclear whether the track will be part of the promised new album. The date makes sense. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper and Mars are scheduled to perform together ahead of the Super Bowl as part of the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest in Atlanta on Feb. 2. Aerosmith, Ludacris and Migos — the trio that includes Cardi’s estranged husband, Offset — are slated to co-headline the three-day event. Cardi and Mars have previously worked together, releasing the hit remix of Mars’ “Finesse” in January 2018. Cardi was scheduled to make 12 appearances on the “Just the Way You Are” singer’s “24K Magic” tour, but she pulled out in July after giving birth to daughter Kulture. She wrote at the time: “I thought that after giving birth . . . 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically . . . but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.” Mars responded with “A Message for Cardi” on Instagram: “Most important thing is you and your family’s health . . . I also know we’ll share the stage when the time is right.” Mars is a big fan of the rapper. He’s said of meeting her for the first time, “She walked in the room and she was everything I’d hope she’d be. Never change, Cardi!” Cardi announced on Instagram on Jan. 1 that she’s trying for a new album in April, but said, “I don’t know if that’s possible, because I feel like I’m gonna be extremely, extremely busy.” The hit-maker is on tour in New Zealand, where she picked a wedgie onstage and posted a shot of herself on the beach. Reps didn’t get back to us. FUENTE
