  4. Rita Ora's new album finally has a release date, at least, we think it does. After numerous delays spanning four years, Rita's sophomore LP, and follow-up to her chart-topping 2012 debut ORA, is pencilled in for November. After alluding to a spring release date earlier this year, Glamour Magazine Germany then reported that the album was being rolled out in the autumn. Now, we have further clarification from Rita herself. Rita told DIRECTV: "I think my fans can just expect tears, blood, sex, rock and roll, and the fulfilment of it finally happening! November is when I’m putting it out, because it’s my birthday month." The Anywhere singer continues: "It’s been a journey! Sadly, it’s not really been positive. I’ve just had to fight so hard for this album in so many ways!" A journey is an understatement. A breakdown in her relationship with Calvin Harris in 2014 reportedly led to all of the songs he had produced for the project to be pulled, and then Rita entered a legal battle with her then-record label Roc Nation shortly afterwards. Rita has confirmed that she has worked with production gods Stargate and top songwriters Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter on the record, plus Coldplay's Chris Martin. It's not all bad news for Rita however. She recently tied Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark as the British female solo artist with the most UK Top 10 hits on the Official Singles Chart. Her latest tracks Your Song, Anywhere, Lonely Together, For You and Girls are all expected to feature on her upcoming collection.
  5. Rita Ora 'will perform Avicii collaboration single Lonely Together at MTV's VMAs in tribute to the late DJ' four months on from his death at 28 In memory: Rita Ora is reportedly set to perform at MTV's Video Music Awards in tribute to her late friend and DJ Avicii, who died aged 28 on April 20. Speaking about the singer's previous tribute performances, the insider continued: 'She has spoken about him on stage while performing the song but she was thrilled when the VMAs said they would like her to do something at the ceremony.' 'Details have been kept secret but it will not be a straightforward performance', they added. MailOnline has contacted Rita's representatives for comment. Lonely Together - which was released in August last year - is nominated for the Dance Video and Visual Effects category, alongside the likes of Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa's One Kiss, and Ariana Grande's No Tears Left to Cry. Just a week after Avicii's death, Rita held a minute's silence in honour of her close friend during her performance at Netherlands' 538Koningsdag music festival. The blonde told the 40,000-strong crowd ahead of her performance: 'I'm going to say something which is really, really special because it's going to be hard for me to sing this next song and I'll tell you why. I had the honour of collaborating with somebody who changed my life and he's a really good friend of mine. I'm obviously talking about the incredible Avicii.'
