Singles:

drake-future-lyrics-drake-vertical-crop.

Drake spends his fifth straight week atop the singles chart with God's Plan, which has been in decline for a fortnight but resumes growth on both paid-for sales (up 21.98% at 9,247) and sales-equivalent streams (up 15.01% at 51,066), with total consumption of 60,313 copies, up 16.02%.

Rudimental's These Days (feat. Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplen) is its runner-up for the third time and turns in its best performance yet with sales up 5.22% at 47,323. It tops the paid-for sales chart for the third time in a row.

The highest ranked of seven tracks from the soundtrack to Black Panther which sits atop the box office chart All The Stars sprints 11-5 (31,070 sales) to become the fifth Top 10 hit for rapper Kendrick Lamar and the first for featured vocalist SZA. The album is also home to Pray For Me (13-11, 24,231 sales) by The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar, King's Dead (53-50, 6,900 sales) by Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Future & James Blake, X (45-59, 6,137 sales) by Schoolboy Q, 2 Chainz & Saudi, The Ways (54-64, 5,577 sales) by Khalid & Swae Lee, Big Shot (55-71, 4,928 sales) by Kendrick Lamar & Travis Scott and I Am (62-74, 4,871 sales) by Jorja Smith.

Marshmello & Anne-Marie both secure their third Top 10 hit, with their collaboration Friends making a sweet second week 19-9 move on sales of 26,959 copies.

Never Be The Same elbows its way into the Top 10 for the third time for Camila Cabello (14-10, 26,889 sales), five weeks after peaking at No.7.

After four weeks stuck at No.4, IDGAF is on the rise again for Dua Lipa, climbing to No.3 (34,339 sales).

Climbing for the sixth time in a row since it made its Top 40 debut, Feel It Still moves 6-4 (31,342 sales) for Portugal The Man on its 28th week in the Top 75.

Following their performance of the song at the BRITs, Liam Payne & Rita Ora's For You remains at No.8, although with best-yet sales of 28,610.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, there are declines for This Is Me (3-6, 30,853 sales) by Keala Settle & The Greatest Showman Ensemble and Barking (5-7, 29,655 sales) by Ramz.

Exiting the Top 10: Breathe (10-12, 23,657 sales) by Jax Jones feat. Ina Wroldsen, Finesse (9-13, 22,298 sales) by Bruno Mars feat. Cardi B and River (7-23, 15,218 sales) by Eminem feat. Ed Sheeran.

Fifteen songs made their Top 75 debuts last week a tally rarely achieved in the streaming era but things are back to normal this week, with only four new arrivals.

Khalid made his chart debut last May, as featured vocalist on Calvin Harris' Rollin. He racks up his sixth hit since then with Normani collaboration Love Lies (No.51, 6,864 sales), a song from the soundtrack to upcoming film Love, Simon. It is Normani's first hit.

Bebe Rexha scores her sixth hit, and country duo Florida Georgia Line their second, with Meant To Be (81-63, 5,579 sales) finally entering the Top 75 after a 27 week gestation.

The first of the week's sales flashes, on Saturday, often distorts the actual market, as it rarely includes any streaming data from major players. Nevertheless, it is an extreme week in which there is a new entry at No.1 on said survey which fails to make the Top 50 at the end of the week. This is one such week, however, because after opening up a 423 sales lead at the summit last Saturday, Please opens at No.67 (5,408 sales) for Samantha Harvey. It is the second chart entry for the 24-year-old singer from Hitcham in Suffolk who has 2.1m followers on Facebook and whose YouTube channel has more than 1,250,000 subscribers following Forgive Forget, which reached No.48 last July.

Mad Love debuts at No.75 (4,870 sales) for Sean Paul & David Guetta feat. Becky G. It is Paul's 30th hit, Guetta's 43rd and Becky G's first.

Not previously mentioned this week but reaching new peaks are: Fine Line (17-16, 21,492 sales) by Mabel feat. Not3s, The Greatest Show (21-20, 17,211 sales) by Hugh Jackman, Zendaya, Zac Efron, Rebecca Ferguson And Keala Settle, Look Alive (23-21, 17,063 sales) by BlocBoy JB feat. Drake, Say Something (27-22, 15,990 sales) by Justin Timberlake feat. Chris Stapleton, Mine (37-27, 14,078 sales) by Bazzi, Check (32-30, 11,506 sales) by Kojo Funds feat. Raye.

Also, Sick Boy (36-35, 9,797 sales) by The Chainsmokers, The Middle (50-37, 9,179 sales) by Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey, Capital Letters (59-39, 8,368 sales) by Hailee Steinfeld & Bloodpop, Wavey (56-44, 7,617 sales) by CLiQ feat. Alika, Paradise (61-45, 7,446 sales) by George Ezra and Bad Vibe (74-60, 6,123 sales) by M.O x Lotto Boyzz x Mr. Eazi

Overall singles sales are down 0.09% week-on-week at 16,031,766, 30.49% above same week 2017 sales of 12,285,948. Streams accounted for 14,981,112 sales, a record 93.45% of the total. Paid-for sales are down 0.42% week -on-week at 1,050,654 and are 30.77% below same week 2017 sales of 1,517,697. They are below same-week, previous-year sales for the 238th week in a row.

In a week when only four new albums mustered enough sales to debut inside the Top 75, and The Greatest Showman soundtrack remains at No.1, the 2018 BRIT Awards triggered some late and much-needed chart action.

Although the end of the trading week came less than 26 hours after the end of the BRITs, they helped to generate increased sales and/or better chart positions for almost all winners as well as many nominees and performers. Some of the albums were on the rise anyway, with pre-awards coverage, TV advertising and retailer promotions all creating a buzz.

The most obvious beneficiary was Dua Lipa, who picked up the awards for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act and performed New Rules. It helped her eponymous debut album to increase consumption 49.31% week-on-week as it surged 11-3 (9,518 sales), surpassing for the first time the No.5 position in which it debuted 37 weeks ago.

Stormzy who closed the show also took home two awards, being named British Male Solo Artist while his debut long-player, Gang Signs & Prayers, was named as British Album Of The Year. The album, which was released exactly a year ago and subsequently debuted at No.1 on sales of 68,594, has been in the Top 50 continuously since that time but had fallen five times in a row before the BRITs. It now rallies 41-10 (4,345 sales, an 88.88% increase), achieving its highest chart placing for 47 weeks, while venturing into platinum territory, with to-date sales of 302,156, of which slightly more than half (151,974) are from sales-equivalent streams.

International Male Solo Artist Kendrick Lamar's latest album, Damn, was already in the ascendancy, improving its chart position in seven of the previous eight weeks, but his win, and performance of album track Feel, helped Damn which debuted and peaked at No.2 last April to end a 28-week absence from the Top 20, jumping 21-14 with sales up 7.03% at 3,885.

Also on the rise: British Single Of The Year winner Rag'N'Bone Man who performed Skin with assistance from his successor as Critics' Choice Award winner Jorja Smith re-enters the Top 10 with debut album Human, although its sales are, surprisingly, down by nine to 6,107, as it jumps 12-4; Foo Fighters who were named Best International Group for the fourth time, and performed The Sky Is A Neighborhood, saw said song's parent album, Concrete And Gold No.1 on debut last September increase consumption 26.32% to 1,119 as it jumps 155-87, while their Greatest Hits set surges 53-36, with sales increasing 10.8% to 2,116.

Lower levels recoveries were triggered for Best British Group Gorillaz's May 2017 No.2 album Human, which saw consumption rise 29.36% to 518 sales but remains outside the Top 200 for the eighth week in a row, and Best International Female Solo Artist Lorde's June 2017 No.5 album Melodrama, which advances 119-101 (2,044 sales, a 2.44% dip). British Video Of The Year winner Harry Styles' eponymous solo debut album No.1 last May holds at No. 116, with sales off 8.61% at 987.

Liam Gallagher's Brits performance of Oasis' Live Forever saw climbs for the group's Time Flies: 1994-2009 (37-27, 2,729 sales) and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (44-35, 2,262 sales) and his solo debut As You Were (24-17, 3,509 sales).

Ed Sheeran who picked up only the Global Success Award despite having by far the biggest single and album of the survey period, and performed Supermarket Flowers remains at No.2 with latest album ÷ which benefitted from Valentine's Day sales in the last frame but failed to match that tally in the latest, with sales off 11.99% at 13,306, an 18-week low. ÷ is No.2 for the 14th time and not No.1 for the 21st time because the Motion Picture Cast recording of The Greatest Showman powers to a seventh straight week atop the chart on sales of 42,604 copies, including 15,496 from sales-equivalent streams.

London-based blues/rock quintet The Temperance Movement's third album, A Deeper Cut, is the only new release to debut inside the Top 10, and also delivers the band's first appearance in that part of the chart, opening at No.6 (5,428 sales). Their eponymous debut opened and peaked at No.12 on sales of 6,509 copies in 2013, and follow-up White Bear debuted and peaked at No.18 (7,181 sales) in 2016.

Camila Cabello's performance of former chart-topper Havana on BBC1's Graham Norton Show helped her debut solo album Camila to arrest a run of four straight falls in fine fashion, with the album rallying 14-5 (6,020 sales) .

Top 10 albums not mentioned hitherto: Man Of The Woods (8-7, 4,618 sales) by Justin Timberlake, Revival (7-8, 4,558 sales) by Eminem and Beautiful Trauma (10-9, 4,357 sales) by Pink.

Meanwhile, the following albums depart the Top 10: The Thrill Of It All (9-11, 4,274 sales) by Sam Smith, Tables Turn (5-16, 3,575 sales) by Fredo, Diamond In The Dirt (4-22, 2,963 sales) by Mist and Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life (3-30, 2,501 sales) by The Wombats.

Belle & Sebastian have released three EPs in recent months. Now collected together as How To Solve Our Human Problems Parts 1-3 and on CD for the first time, they earn the Scots veterans their 11th album chart entry, debuting at No.28 (2,626 sales).

No.1 on the budget album chart for the last three weeks, The Cranberries' 2012 Spectrum label compilation Dreams: The Collection saw its sales slide 28.12% week-on-week but a hike in notional dealer price means it no longer qualifies as a budget title and, instead, makes its regular album chart debut at No.46 (1,766 sales).

Everything Is Recorded's self-titled first album includes guest vocals from the likes of Green Gartside, Giggs, Peter Gabriel and Sampha. On the XL Recordings label, it is actually by the label's founder Richard Russell and debuts at No.66 (1,384 sales).

American indie quartet Car Seat Headrest make their first chart appearance, debuting at No.68 (1,371 sales) with Twin Fantasy.

MTV Rocks is the No.1 compilation for the fifth straight week on sales of 7,560 copies.

BRITs notwithstanding, overall album sales are down 8.44% week-on-week at 1,620,637, 1.88% above same week 2017 sales of 1,590,693. Streaming accounted for 935,244 sales a record 57.71% of the total. Sales of paid-for albums are down 17.35% week-on-week at 685,393 their lowest level since Kantar Millward Brown started compiling sales data for OCC in 1995, and 25.77% below same week 2017 sales of 923,317.

These Days tops the paid-for sales tabulation for the fifth time but, as in its last four frames, the Rudimental track's inferior streaming tallies cost it dear, and it remains at No.2 on the singles chart, also for the fifth time, with total consumption of 46,621 copies, while Drake's God's Plan is No.1 for the seventh straight week with total consumption of 51,713 sales, including 44,264 from sales-equivalent streams. It tops the streaming chart but is only No.8 on paid-for sales.

There's no change at No.3 either, with Dua Lipa's IDGAF in the bronze medal position for the third time (35,517 sales) but Portugal The Man's debut smash Feel It Still rebounds 6-4 (34,852 sales) to revisit its peak on its 30th week in the Top 75.

Say Something reaches a new high, climbing 10-9 (24,372 sales) for Justin Timberlake feat. Chris Stapleton.

The rest of the Top 10: Friends (5-5, 33,590 sales) by Marshmello & Anne-Marie, Psycho (4-6, 29,434 sales) by Post Malone feat. Ty Dolla $ign, This Is Me (8-7, 27,668 sales) by Keala Settle & The Greatest Showman Ensemble, All The Stars (7-8, 27,384 sales) by Kendrick Lamar & SZA and For You (9-10, 23,930 sales) by Liam Payne & Rita Ora.

Rapper XxxTentacion's debut hit Jocelyn Flores reached No.39 last September. His second hit, Sad!, surpasses that peak on debut, opening at No.26 (12,104 sales). Dropped simultaneous with Sad!, another XxxTentacion track, Changes, debuts at No.71 (5,095 sales).

Homegrown rapper Dave's sixth hit, Hangman, debuts at No.30 (11,626 sales).

MoStack's first hit in his own right but fourth in all, What I Wanna is more than a tad boastful and self-aggrandising but manages to debut at No.37 (9,867 sales).

It is exactly a year since DJ Khaled's Shining (feat. Beyonce & Jay-Z) peaked at No.71. The DJ/producer collaborates with them again for Top Off the first single from his upcoming album Father Of Asahd this time adding extra box office appeal in the form of Future. The track makes a higher debut, opening at No.41 (9,259 sales). It is Khaled's seventh Top 75 chart hit, Future's 11th, Jay-Z's 49th and Beyonce's 68th.

Logic scored his third Top 75 entry last week when 44 More debuted at No.75. It's gone already but he has a new hit in the form of Everyday (feat. Marshmello), which opens at No.59 (6,047 sales).

Also new to the chart is Ric Flair Drip (No.70, 5,145 sales) by Offset & Metro Boomin.

Mabel's first hit, Finders Keepers (feat. Kojo Funds), didn't make the Top 10 until its ninth week on the Top 75 last November. Follow-up Fine Line (feat. Not3s) is also a grower, and marks its seventh week on the lost by advancing 14-11 (21,945 sales).

With huge airplay support from both Radio 1 and Radio 2 it tops both stations' most played lists George Ezra's Paradise makes double digit gains for the third week in a row. Moving 61-45-30-19, its latest leap on sales of 16,857 copies delivers Ezra's third Top 20 single.

The Top 40 is looking more than a little bit country, with no fewer than four songs on which core country acts accompany more mainstream artists, three of which reach new peaks this week. Chris Stapleton has had six country hits and is climbing the Top 10 with Justin Timberlake (as detailed above); 27-year-old Maren Morris, with seven country hits to her credit, is into the Top 20 with Zedd and Grey collaboration The Middle (31-18, 17,760 sales); and Nashville duo Florida Georgia Line (16 country hits), who have simultaneous Top 40 hits with Bebe Rexha collaboration Mean To Be powering 56-33 (9,702 sales) and Hailee Steinfeld, Alesso & Watt teaming Let Me Go, up 37-34 (10,717 sales), though it charted higher (No.30) three weeks ago.

There are new peaks for: Jumanji (19-15, 19,025 sales) by B Young, Look Alive (18-17, 18,043 sales) by BlocBoy JB feat. Drake, Lullaby (32-21, 15,534 sales) by Sigma & Paloma Faith, Love Lies (46-38, 9,702 sales) by Khalid & Normani, Bad Vibe (55-50, 7,799 sales) by M.O x Lotto Boyzz x Mr. Eazi and Location (68-67, 5,254 sales) by Khalid. And a 47.94% increase in consumption returns Personal the first hit for 18-year-old TV personality Hrvy to the list at No.69 (5,195 sales), surpassing the No.73 peak it scaled seven weeks ago.

Overall singles sales are up 0.47% week-on-week at 15,766,018, 19.16% above same week 2017 sales of 13,230,810. Streams accounted for 14,695,490 sales, 93.21% of the total. Paid-for sales are up 5.41% week -on-week at 1,070,528 and are 29.68% below same week 2017 sales of 1,522,279. They are below same-week, previous-year sales for the 240th week in a row.

The show goes on... The Greatest Showman was snubbed by Academy Awards voters last week, winning no Oscars but The Motion Picture Cast Recording is No.1 for the ninth straight week, and once again is way ahead of the chasing pack, with consumption of 41,547 units its third best tally including 13,191 from sales-equivalent streams.

The Greatest Showman has previously blocked albums from Camila Cabello, Fall Out Boy, Craig David and Justin Timberlake from debuting at No.1, and now prevents A Real Labour Of Love (No.2, 16,445 sales) from doing the same for UB40 feat. Ali, Astro & Mickey. It is the fifth Labour Of Love album: the original Labour Of Love debuted and peaked at No.1 in 1983, while Labour Of Love II debuted at No.9 in 1989 and peaked at No.3 in 1990, Labour Of Love III debuted and peaked at No.8 in 1998 and Labour Of Love 4 debuted and peaked at No.24 in 2010. Hitherto comprising covers of reggae songs they enjoyed while growing up, the latest in the series is songs they listened to after UB40 achieved fame. The Labour Of Love strand that runs through UB40's history also saw a 1994 pairing of the first two albums reaching No.5, a 2003 release housing the first three albums reaching No.7 and a 2009 Best Of Labour Of Love set reaching No.29.

A Real Labour Of Love is the third album that Ali (Campbell), Astro and Mickey (Virtue) have released as a trio following 2014s No.18 album Silhouette which OCC credited as being by Ali Campbell but which the sleeve credits as Ali Campbell Reunited With Astro & Mickey and Unplugged, which reached No.17 in 2016. An alternative UB40, featuring the other five of the band's other original members, is also active, and have been raising money on PledgeMusic to fund their new album, Broken Man, which is due for release in May. Campbell and Mickey both left the original UB40 in 2008, while Astro only jumped ship after 2013 album Getting Over The Storm, which reached No.29. Ali Campbell's brother Robin continues to lead the other UB40. To further complicate matters, his and Ali's other brother Duncan who played no part in the original band and only joined after Ali's departure now serves as their lead vocalist. Including all albums credited to UB40, A Real Labour Of Love is the 33rd to make the Top 75, with only the aforementioned Labour Of Love (1983) and 1993's Promises And Lies which also reached No.1 charting higher.

Another band spearheaded by two brothers, and with origins in the last century also return to the Top 10 this week. They are Yorkshire indie/alternative band Embrace. Arriving nearly 20 years after their first and four years after their last, their seventh studio album Love Is A Basic Need - written and produced by lead singer Danny McNamara and his brother, lead guitarist Richard McNamara - maintains their unbroken run of Top 10 entries, debuting at No.5 (6,291 sales). Three of their albums have debuted at No.1, most recently This New Day, which sold 76,322 when it trumped Massive Attack compilation Collected for chart honours in 2006. Its 2004 predecessor Out Of Nothing also a No.1 - had first-week sales of 55,613, while their 1998 debut album The Good Will Out opened in pole position, with first-week sales of 42,932. Their most recent studio album before Love Is A Basic Need, which debuted and peaked at No.5 on sales of 11,855 copies.

Also in the veterans category are US alternative band The Breeders, who made the chart for the first time in 1990, when their debut album Pod reached No.22. All Nerve is only their fifth album, and first for 10 years, and debuts at No.9 (4,732 sales) to become their highest charting set since second album Last Splash reached No.5 in 1993. The Breeders have remained with Beggars Banquet imprint 4AD throughout their career.

Canadian rapper Tory Lanez reached No.18 (2,801 sales) with his introductory long player, I Told You in 2016. In an age where urban albums, particularly those by rappers, are packed with guests and samples, I Told You had no credited co-performers, and only contains a handful of samples. No other rap album has charted this high without at least a couple of 'featuring' credits this decade. His follow-up, Memories Don't Lie, is still refreshingly light on samples, but loaded with assists from the likes of Future, Nav, 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa and Fabolous, and debuts at No.8 (5,139 sales).

The rest of the Top 10: ÷ (2-3, 15,722 sales) by Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa (3-4, 9,889 sales), Human (4-6, 6,204 sales) by Rag'N'Bone Man, The Thrill Of It All (6-7, 6,023 sales) by Sam Smith and Beautiful Trauma (9-10, 4,719 sales) by Pink.

Exiting the Top 10: X (10-11, 4,136 sales) by Ed Sheeran, Camila (8-13, 4,001 sales) by Camilla Cabello, Gang Signs & Prayer (5-14, 3,818 sales) by Stormzy and Man Of The Woods (7-16, 3,664 sales) by Justin Timberlake.

Half of the extremely successful duo Everything But The Girl who have been on hiatus since 1999 Tracey Thorn has also released five solo albums, of which the latest and by far the highest charting is Record, which debuts at No.15 (3,788 sales). The 55-year-old, whose introductory solo album A Distant Shore was released in 1982, reached her previous highest chart position as a soloist in 2007, when her second solo set, Out Of The Woods, reached No.39. Her most recent release before Record was Christmas album Tinsel And Lights, which debuted and peaked at No.94 (1,529 sales) in 2012. Ben Watt Thorn's partner in Everything But The Girl and husband for the last decade has released three solo album, charting with two, most recently in 2016 when Fever Dream reached No.53 (1,610 sales).

More than six years after the first of his four charted singles and nearly four years after the last, rapper Sneakbo celebrates the place of his birth on debut album Brixton. Featuring guest contributions from Conor Maynard, Giggs and the increasingly ubiquitous Not3s, it debuts at No.20 (3,401 sales).

One of the most talked about new bands of the last couple of years are Superorganism, a multi-national, multi-genre, disparately-aged octet, all but one of whom co-habit in London. Their eponymous debut album opens at No.25 (3,128 sales).

He used to be one of the biggest artists in dance music, scoring back-to-back number one albums with Play (1999) and 18 (2002) but Moby has been a reduced power for some time now, and his new album Everything Was Beautiful And Nobody Was Hurt is his eighth in a row to fall short of the Top 20, although it fares better than the rest, debuting at No.30 (2,793 sales). He last charted with Innocents (No.35, 2013), subsequently falling short of the Top 200 with a four-hour set of ambient tunes and two collaborations with The Void Pacific Choir.

The Glorious Garden (No.31, 2,639 sales) is a most unusual album: 12 poems written and narrated by 69-year-old TV personality Alan Titchmarsh are interwoven with an identical number of musical evocations by Debbie Wiseman & The National Symphony Orchestra, with a final track combining music and words.

Hard rock quartet Stone Broken from Walsall in Staffordshire fell short of the Top 200 with 2016 debut, All In Time, but have gained a big following since, hence second album Ain't Always Easy's No.37 debut on sales of 2,446 copies.

Petula Clark is the oldest female solo artist to chart an album of new material, being 83 when From Now On made the Top 75 in 2016 but it is still a significant achievement for Joan Baez's 25th and final studio album, Whistle Down The Wind to do likewise a few weeks after her 77th birthday. Debuting at No.47 (2,041 sales), it is Baez's first studio album since 2008, when Day After Tomorrow reached No.100. Baez's long time friend Judy Collins is a year older, and misses out on a return to the Top 75 herself this week, as her Everybody Knows album a collection of collaborations with former (as in the late 1960s) boyfriend Stephen Stills (a mere 73 years old) debuts at No.148 (877 sales).

No.20 in 1978, Jethro Tull's Heavy Horses has been expanded and reissued to mark its 40th birthday and returns to the chart at No.44 (2,224 sales).

The Pet Shop Boys' first three albums Please (No.3, 1986), Actually (No.2, 1987) and Introspective (No.2, 1988) make up the third instalment of The Pet Shop Boys' series of remastered and expanded re-releases, and return to the chart at No.65 (1,580 sales), No.59 (1,662 sales) and No.73 (1,468 sales) respectively. The first trio of upgrades Nightlife (No.7, 1999), Releases (No.7, 2002) and Fundamental (No.5, 2006) reached No.29 (2,873 sales), No.30 (2,862 sales) and No.33 (2,724 sales) respectively when they launched the series last August, while Yes (No.4, 2009) and Elysium (No.9, 2012) reached No.37 (2,515 sales) and No.44 (2,233 sales) when they followed in November.

Ahead of Mothers Day on Sunday (March 11), legions of female parent-friendly albums improve their standing on the compilation chart, with Now That's What I Call Mum jumping 9-1 (9,978 sales), 50 weeks after its previous stint at the summit ahead of Mothers Day 2017.

Overall album sales are up 8.31% week-on-week at 1,719,407, 25.49% below same week 2017 sales of 2,307,505. Streaming accounted for 911,730 sales 53.03% of the total. Sales of paid-for albums are up 18.84% week-on-week at 807,677, 49,05% below same week 2017 sales of 1,554,730, which were distorted by huge first week numbers for Ed Sheeran's ÷.
